SKIN CANCER CLINIC
Fridays at Medicrew Buderim
Dr Gabriel Roux (“Dr Harvey”) and his wife, Hannelie (Registered Nurse), operate a skin cancer clinic at our Medicrew Buderim clinic every Friday. Dr Harvey and Hannelie have been working together in skin cancer care for many years.
Anyone is welcome to visit this Skin Cancer Clinic – not only patients of Medicrew Buderim. No referral is necessary – but a referral will be welcomed! Beside skin reviews and risk estimation, the duo provides skin surgery with complicated or cosmetic repair if needed. Services also include Daylight PDT, topical treatments as well as Melanography (total body photography and single lesion surveillance). Also now available is state of the art Artificial Intelligence Engines for the analysis of high-risk patients and high-risk lesions.
Dr Harvey (MBBS, FRACGP) has 30 years’ experience in general and gynaecological surgery and also holds a Master’s Degree (MMed) in Skin Cancer with the University of Queensland. Over the last 10 years, Dr Harvey has focused more heavily on his area of special interest – skin cancer. If you have any suspicious moles, freckles or skin lesions, Dr Harvey is very experienced and can help you determine the next step.

INTEGRATIVE CANCER CLINIC
Thursday afternoons at Medicrew Buderim
Appointments with Dr Kasia will be on Thursday afternoons and will be 30 – 45 minute appointments for patients. This gives patients the time they may not otherwise have in busy public clinics. Dr Kasia tailors her appointments to patient needs. Some may need a care plan for the mental or allied health services. Others may want to discuss their treatment further. Some patients want to talk to a doctor about the supplements and other complementary treatments they are using. Dr Kasia also sees patients who have opted out of conventional medicine and sadly have no-one left to manage their medical care.
Dr Kasia Drzewiecki (MBBS, FRACGP, ClinDipPallMed, FAZCIM) understands that the holistic approach to patient care has been recognised as more effective for healing than focusing on the illness itself. Holistic/Integrative cancer care is a growing and much needed discipline. Larger centres such as Melbourne and Sydney already have Integrative Oncology Clinics in place and Dr Kasia is unique in offering the same here on the Sunshine Coast.
Dr Kasia is an Australian trained GP with over 16 years post-graduate experience. She has a deep passion for and commitment to the holistic approach to care of patients with cancer. Along with her FRACGP, she has completed a Fellowship of Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona and Diplomas in Palliative Care, Child Health & Women’s Health (DRANZCOG).
For the last 8 months, in a collaborative agreement with Medicrew Buderim and Bloomhill Cancer Care, Dr Kasia has also been working Wednesdays at the Bloomhill Cancer Care Centre and is now expanding her Practice to include a clinic at Medicrew Buderim.
Dr Kasia’s belief is to use all the evidence based available treatment modalities for cancer care, including conventional and complementary. She has experience with the entire spectrum of cancer care from prevention, to diagnosis, remission, recurrence and palliation. Survivorship is an important aspect of cancer care and will be explored with patients.
